Archana Kochhar
This eruption of talent is based out of Mumbai, India’s fashion capital. Her style centers on a perfectly executed balance of gaudiness and understatement, high-end fashion and a demure sensibility. Her color palettes are decadent and rich, often set to the sparkle of a few hundred gemstones. She is inspired by the feminine royal Indian regalia of the 18th century, along with Victorian touches and even ancient architecture. Her collections have been featured internationally, and her bridal wear is renowned for it’s fairytale worthy pizazz.
Designer’s Quote: “The outfit the bride wears that completes her visual of the most important day of her life. So their is no room to skip details or to go wrong in any way - It has to be perfect till the very last stitch and seam.”

Manish Malhotra-
Considered by many to be India’s much successful fashion designer, Malhotra found his niche piece together intricate costumes for Bollywood movie stars. His basis in film allowed him to become known throughout the world as an innovative and creative designer with the innate ability to complete a look while creating a character. He manages to keep up with trends while putting his own personal spin on everything from evening gowns to overcoats. He’s been featured in several international fashion weeks, including South Africa, Dubai, and Dehli Couture Week.
Designer’s quote: “If we start working from a position of strength that comes from drawing from our roots rather than aping Western designers we will never go wrong. The West is learning that India is glamorous and that the sari is the sexiest garment in the whole wide world.”

Neeta Lulla-
Winner of three Nation Film Awards for Best Costume Design, this designer is known for recreating looks of style icons long past with ease and finesse. After two decades and almost 350 films to her credit, Lulla is a designer that is much sought after in the world of fashion, and an icon for the film industry. She has even set up a couture shop in Mumbai to show off her fiercely flawless designs.

Rupa Mehta
Kolkata based fashion designer Rupa Mehta has been a veteran in the fashion industry for the past 15 years. Mehta has unerring sense of color and drape. Mehta is a well-known name throughout Kolkata where any trousseau is incomplete without an ensemble from her. Her label “Rupa Mehta” reflects timeless beauty and grace that is India. Chiffons, Georgettes, Jamevars, Kalamkari and of course the trendy and happening Net are the chosen fabrics in which she works her magic. Anyone dressed by her is sure to feel the admiring glances, turning of heads and also a lot of envy!
Designer’s Quote: “Sarees are priceless heirlooms to be handed over from mother to daughter, embroidery that brings alive the crafts of generations, lenghas that are timeless and still chic enough to be worn by all ages are my specialties.”

Helina Davda
Mumbai-based designer, carved her inborn creative & aesthetic capacities at the NIFT, gaining expertise in the field of Fashion and Design. Bagging the award of Gujarat Soi Fashion Show, Red Event Bridal Fashion Show in 2009, her passion, inexhaustible creativity and determination have added glamour to her collection. Helina’s label is prominent across India as well as Dubai and is now proud to be introduced in the U.S. through Borrow It Bindaas!
